Good ole test

I dare say that the Republicans of SL are beggining to take off, however we are not without our growing pains. In only our second meeting since reconstituting ourselves into a politically active organization we saw the attendence double from 10 members on March 11th to a robust 20 members today. Though the added activity is more than welcome it also brang about a few unforseen consequences. For example, the witty banter that worked so well with 10 people was more than a little distracting with so many people putting forth their ideas. I was frequently having to check the history so that I could read the text before it disappered. That being said, the members that came today had an obvious zeal and willingness to become involved which should help our presence in SL.
The real work of the day consisted of an update of last weeks meeting. In which it was decided that we will all support the Headquarters by donating money as our ability to pay made us able. On that note it was reported that we have covered the opperating costs for March and that the surplus would be rolled over to next months tier payment.
Then we breifly discussed how the Republicans of SL should react to the possible entrance of a Republican candidate specific Headquarters. After much debate, it was decided and generally agreed upon by the members that we would not endorse any candidate until after the primaries, but that we could have information about all Republican candidates for curious seekers who might travel to our Headquarters in search of information.
Next, it was reported that all previous officer roles had been cleared and that volunteers were needed to fufill the responsibilities of leadership within the group. By the end, Vyre, Floyd, Ryder, Gwen, and Reena were willing to volunteer their time and experience to the cause. So until time and experience dictates additional officers these are our leaders. They will meet the week before any general meeting to discuss what items will be placed on the agenda for the general meeting and deal with the day to day issues that may arise. Other duties will be added as time progresses.
Finally, the call went out for those that were willing to blog for the Republican's in SL. I for one agreed to do it, as did Floyd and Vyre. Therefore, from now on, I may also be found at Republicans in SL (the official blogspot for Republicans in SL) and I am sure I will also be heavily into the Second Life Republicans blog. It was also determined that we should present an "alternative" blogroll featuring prominent conservative blogs.
The meeting then broke up in the usual Second Life way, with some standing around chatting, some still sitting (perhaps dealing with pressing RL issues), and some teleporting to wherever it is that we Republicans like to visit.
